[Yes and then Jonathan wasn't on campus for an entire two days, and Jolyne still isn't back. Jonathan outwardly doesn't seem to be concerned by this, but it Is still noticeable at least.] A bit of quiet does seem to be a welcome break here at least, [he chuckles.]

I suppose any excuse to indulge is as good as any for most people.

[It was quiet in other ways, he had noticed he wasn't feeling any phantom pains or aches via proxy the last several days - or someone stabbing themselves in the hand. This already had him on edge.]

I suppose Miss Cujo is taking her time coming back?

[He asks, almost conversationally, but the distracted look in his eyes had vanished]

[There is a slight hesitation. Extremely so- but slight. For that matter Jonathan seems to be studying the other with an intensely wary scrutiny, visibly for only one reason.

His hamon breathing is a little too focused. There's certainly no sparks, but he's too on edge, however much he's trying to hide that.] At the very least, it would have been rude to turn down such a personal invitation.

She shall be back soon enough though, I'm certain, [he lies.] ...Do you know her at all yourself?

[He was no expert in bat biology - even with the moments of his sire turning into one, but there's no mistaking the way Jonathan's breathing changes, his sensitive ears picking up what would've normally be inaudible.

He ran the napkin over the paring knife, green eyes flicking again at the question]

I believed I had mentioned before I had met her in passing, we did not get on to be frank.

[His voice had a quiet, questioning tone - as if asking if something was the matter without actually vocalizing it]

[The slightest twitch of an ear. And...] Yes, of course- I suppose that would have been something I asked quite a while ago. I recently started to teach her hamon; I thought it something she could combine with her strings.

[...] I don't believe I told you that before at least, correct?

[If it's someone the Galra have overtaken, he has an excuse. He was visibly scattered after all of those attempts to rip his soul out of this vessel after all- with the spotty memory and time it took to bring things back to focus, who could blame him for anything he's saying now? In Jonathan's mind, a plant wouldn't find that especially odd. If they did after all, that just brings attention to something they've caused.

But if it's truly Sherlock...]

[The nervousness, the hesitation - then the way he asks that]

No you had not - but... you're testing me.

[Sherlock starts slowly]

Something must have happen to make you feel the need to be sure I am who I say.

Do you think so? [he chuckles- well, yes, obviously he is but there's one more thing he has to make sure of.]

That would hardly be a wise thing to do if I didn't know how secure a room was; I've flown right in through the window before after all.

[Which is to say, please tell him this room is soundproofed before he gets into things,]

Long as the doors and windows are closed, few sounds can escape...

[He then considers for a moment, the study rooms in the library? No, too much risk being seen, even if he goes into mist form. He gets up, closing the door, and drawing the shades]

That should do it.

[Silence. And for a moment, it looks very much like Jonathan is happily nodding along, waiting, waiting...

As soon as Sherlock says that it falls apart. The hamon tension is gone at least, because frankly Sherlock is far from an enemy now- if anything he's all he's got. But the panic.]

Jolyne's been kidnapped, [is what croaks out first, before he continues-] We both were- us and a number of others, they only allowed me to go because I had no use; and for that matter they can use her as a hostage.

At least multiple others had something...done to them, I cannot even begin to describe it, beyond that when I apparently proved 'resistant' they were eager to make it known that they would know if I told a single being for that reason.

I do apologize for how I began earlier, [Jonathan adds, bowing his head.] It is indeed as you said- it was a rudimentary test, precisely to see if you yourself had been somehow taken as well. But I don't know who's left.

...If I'm being honest...you're the only one here I know well enough to even try.

[Kidnapped. Others... does that mean? Then torture. Jonathan didn't say it directly, but one can infer from the shape of the words that weren't being said.]

Multiple people, probably compromised.

Must have taken them during the brief break, Moriarty might've been one, but who else? Who else was stolen? He had to know]

It's a wise move, if I were compromised, your efforts would've come to naught. Jonathan - I am going to go, and see who among the faculty might or might not be compromised.

[He frowns slightly, even if none where - some of them were about as subtle as a brick when it comes to resolving issues.]

[It's a Lot. It's a lot to have been holding in for that matter too.

Jonathan gives a curt nod, and admittedly a sigh of relief with Sherlock's words though- at least before perking up with something he feels he ought to add.] ...Without a doubt I won't be able to join you in any full explanations or gatherings once you've sorted out who you can organize with on this matter- not without revealing that I've spoken at all.

But at the very least, I can pass to you what I know of the place we were taken. To say the least of the lycanthropes who maintained the facility.

[An upperhand IS always good.]

Understood - much as I dislike muddling matters, this is one case where it is of dire nessecity in order to make sure everyone returns safely.

[He held his hand out, as if holding a pipe, brows knitting together]

Ah - yes, I believe I can come up with quite a plausible series of events that leaves you entirely out of the picture... so we are dealing with a clan of Lycanthropes? One with ready access to magic, and little qualms about using torture.

What else do you recall? Try to think, even the smallest detail may prove invaluable in narrowing down their location.

[Absolutely Dire, even if part of the stress has come entirely because he and Jolyne simply missed each other's location.

But all the same.] Quite right. The technology and building I was kept within...for all that I've been adjusting to technology here, it somehow felt beyond even that. It was somewhere in the Outlands- but I cannot speak much more precisely than that. I was unfortunately knocked out for the trip back, and on the way there simply blinded...

I couldn't determine much from their conversations I shall admit, but if the name 'Zarkon' means anything to anyone at all, they seemed to consider him their 'emperor'. I know little of lycanthropes thus far, but it seems at least notable that there could be an entire empire of them with such habits. And...

[It's a little more difficult to bring this part forward- which is shameful, he's certain but...] They have at least one among them with experience in handling the undead. Or at the very least, someone with enough knowledge to attempt to exorcise me from my body.

[It failed. That much is clear with him right there but...]

...I'm afraid I can't explain much more however. There was simply so much before me, and so little I could properly understand- it shames me, but I cannot put more words to what was there to help identify their location and being.

It's quite all right, few people can reliably recall things in a panic, that is why eye-witnesses alone do not solve a case. The name should give me something to go on. I'll be doing some research in the library.

I am a regular at the library - and my research and note-taking had been on a wide variety of subjects, it would be trivial to hide what I am investigating.

[From anyone else, that would be an extremely arrogant boast - no, even from Sherlock it was still an arrogant statement, said with complete and utter confidence in his ability.]

Now, your granddaughter is, unfortunately, one such person - thankfully, her clear dislike of me would not make it suspicious for me to avoid her. Now it is merely a matter of identifying others affected by this...

On that note, as given I do not usually draw my curtains, we will come up with a plausible excuse - if anyone actually notices my doing so -

It would not be far from me to be breaking one of the few rules I set for this floor, feign an experiment that I asked you to assist me with, and few will raise their brows if asked.

[As long as he can hide it, that's good. And, uh...] Hmm.

Perhaps, an experiment in hamon; how effective would it be, in a situation where no other light is accessible?

[He knows full well that Hamon and Sherlock can't possibly mix, but even so, maybe Sherlock would go for that kind of risky experiment with enough distance.] It's only a simple excuse though. I imagine that simply saying 'an experiment' would suffice, wouldn't it?
