[ In the early afternoon, Syaoran is going to actively seek out Ruler, primarily because he's a little curious about a few things, so where can he find him? ]
[He's been generally all over, but the most reliable place to find him this week was the Library, with almost a wall of books surrounding him, several of them opened, and he seems to be jumping from book to book, writing something down rather furiously.
However, once the door opens, he pokes his head up]
It's probably a little personal, but I was actually a little curious. 'Ruler' isn't your actual name, right? I won't ask for your true name, but I was wondering if there was a reason behind the name that you're currently using.
Servants like myself are summoned into different 'classes' base on our abilities and legends to fulfill specific roles in the ritual battle - for example, a man whose fame comes from the wielding of a magic sword will become a Saber, while a woman who can shoot a hole dead-center in shilling falling in mid-air would be an Archer.
Typically, in a normal ritual - there are seven, thee knight classes: Saber, Archer, Lancer, and Four Cavalry classes: Caster - which would be my normal class, Rider, Assassin, and Berserker.
[At the offer, he mulls over it some of his obvious questions had already been answered in either the initial meeting with the False Yuuko or their meeting on monday, but it's time to consider another line of questioning]
What is your impression of the one pretending to be Ms. Yuuko?
I feel that. . . there has to be some reason why she's impersonating Yuuko-san in the first place. To be honest, Watanuki would have something better to say since he knows her better than I do, but there's just some things about the way she talks that are different.
But I've pretty much spoken a lot about that. I don't have any strong impressions except for the fact that there's so much I don't understand. Why they took her name and appearance. If they were just simply trying to obscure their identity, it didn't have to be her.
As for her, herself... I don't trust her, or what they're trying to do.
[After some fussing, Ruler goes to seek out Syaoran - knowing that likely the young man isn't inclined to speak to him given everything, but this was important]
I know you would not want to see me... but I heard about something in your possession that is important.
[His pale, gloveless hands reaches into his vest, flashing a sealed letter]
Mine had the same instructions... I got it from Our Patron, 'Feathers'.
I was instructed to look for a message instructing me to 'Do not read the letter', and if one should fail to turn up, I should go ahead and read it at the instructed time.
...I wonder if that is where he got it from. He must - I'm sorry, I shouldn't be speculating like that, not this soon.
I have a suspicion whoever reads it may suffer for it, and I believe we both are steeling ourselves for it, and it would be pointless for us both to read it.
I. . . actually suspected that Kimihiro might have been the witch in the letters. But I didn't want to believe that's the truth, not when I don't have enough evidence about them yet. That's why I've been trying to compile as much information as I can about them with others.
[....]
If anyone else has to suffer for reading the letter, I'll take that responsibility. Kimihiro is the closest person to me, and I refuse to break a promise I made to him.
It's... not a bad hypothesis, but I don't believe that's the case.
[He opens his mouth to protest his declaration, but stops, seeing the look in his eyes]
It is against my better judgment, and I do not like the idea of it, but I will allow you that, you are the one who was affected the most by this - it is your right.
I do not believe the witch is among us, otherwise I do not know enough to positively identify them. Our Patron is cautious, and is purposely holding back some advantages to prevent their true name from getting exposed.
The way things are written, they are of an observer just out of reach, not someone who was in close proximity with us. Even with carefully censoring themselves, something would slip. However, it does not eliminate the possibility that it is someone you know.
If we solve this... and find Kimihiro's murderer. I'll tell you and the others everything I've heard about them to the entire group. That's why I've been asking as many people as I can to learn as much as I can.
[ He's going to go seeking Holmes on Sunday early in the morning, searching for him. Obviously he'll go checking on him in his room first, knocking on his door. If he's there, he'll hear Syaoran's voice, calling out: ]
[He catches the tone, and gives a ghost of a reassuring smile]
Thank you for checking, I'm fine now thanks to him and having time to rest. I'm not going to hear the end of it from Moriarty, even if I had a good reason for doing that.
[ He smiles in return, but it's just barely there before it fades. ]
And you wanted to see what she would do, right? She wasn't responding to anyone, so it was very likely that she was planning on some sort of counterattack. I think we have to learn from this and plan a little smarter.
I figured if she had a trap prepared, that I would be in a better position than anyone else to survive it.
[He leans against the doorway]
And she confirmed it, if it had been anyone else, they would have died. We'll have to withhold our blue truths until we have a solid theory so she can't build her arsenal.
I'm actually a little curious about how the Master and Servant connection works. I know you guys can feel each other's physical pain, but is there. . . other things that you deal with because of it?
I won't lie, it's frustrating, he is trying to hold back in an attempt to not worry people, and he doesn't believe his own well-being is important to this.
[Self-sacrificing types can be exhausting to deal with]
The physical pain is a new thing for me, but I can endure.
Kimihiro. He really is being reckless again. [ He always was. And there's a pain that flashes in Syaoran's eyes for a moment before it fades. ] He should know better that there are people that worry about him. That I worry about him for doing things like that.
Week 1
thursday (after remembering that i should do this...)

However, once the door opens, he pokes his head up]
Hello?

[ Thankfully the library is one of Syaoran's normal locations, so heading here isn't exactly out of his way! ]

It's quite all right. It's nothing that's time sensitive, and it seems like I am about due for a break, is there something I can assist with?

[He leans back in his hair, hands pressed together]
"Ruler" is not my real name, that is right. The best way to describe it is that it is my 'class' designation.

[ He nods to himself, humming a little inquisitively as Ruler seems to explain. ]
And is there a particular reason to go by the class designation instead of your actual name?

Week 2 Post-Investigation
I know you would not want to see me... but I heard about something in your possession that is important.
[His pale, gloveless hands reaches into his vest, flashing a sealed letter]
I think we received the same set of instructions.

His eyes glance at the envelope with curiosity before speaking up, revealing his own envelope. ]
I got this after the trial last week.
[ Syaoran's words are quiet. Quieter than usual. ]
... I was told to read this after the verdict is given out, but before the execution. Can I ask who gave you that letter?
no subject
I was instructed to look for a message instructing me to 'Do not read the letter', and if one should fail to turn up, I should go ahead and read it at the instructed time.

[ He sounds pretty shocked, but in a way that he didn't expect. ]
My letter was from Kimihiro.

[ Idle curiosity there, because it's possible that someone might actually know who they are. ]
And thank you. WE might have to read both just in case the letters aren't the same, though. Because that possibility is up there.
